What this site collects, why, and what happens to it. In short: the contact form, and nothing else.
Who is responsible
Taskvolve is run by Adam Shamiri as a sole trader, trading as Taskvolve. That means the person responsible for your information — the data controller, in the wording of UK GDPR — is Adam Shamiri.
For anything to do with your data, including the requests described below, email adam@taskvolve.com.
What we collect
Only what you type into the contact form: your name, your email address, your business name, your message, and your website if you choose to give it. The website is optional; the rest are needed to reply usefully.
There are no other forms on this site. You are not required to give us anything — not filling the form in has no consequence beyond us not being able to answer you.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you contacted a business asking a question, and the business needs your details to answer. We have weighed that against your privacy and think it is what any reasonable person would expect when they send an enquiry.
We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass your details to anyone for marketing. If a conversation turns into work, we will agree separate terms with you at that point.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies at all. We use a privacy-focused analytics tool that counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you, so there is no consent banner to click past.
Your IP address
To stop the contact form being abused, we count recent submissions per visitor. We do that against a hash of your IP address rather than the address itself, and the record is deleted automatically within about twenty minutes.
To be straight with you: hashing an address makes it harder to read, not impossible, so we still treat it as personal data rather than pretend it is anonymous.
Who else sees it, and where it goes
Two suppliers handle your enquiry on our behalf: the service that delivers the email to us, and the service that hosts this website. Both are bound by contract to act only on our instructions, and neither uses your details for their own purposes. We are happy to name them — just ask.
Both are based in the United States, so your enquiry is processed outside the United Kingdom. Those transfers rely on the standard contractual protections in each supplier’s data processing terms, which is the safeguard UK law provides for exactly this situation.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for twelve months after we last hear from you, then deleted. If a conversation becomes a project, the records that belong to that work are kept for as long as we need them for the engagement and our accounts.
Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete it
- stop using it while a complaint is sorted out
- stop using it altogether — you can object at any time, and because our basis is legitimate interests we must stop unless we have compelling grounds not to
- send you a copy in a portable format, or pass it to someone else
Email adam@taskvolve.com and we will respond within one month. There is no charge. We do not make any automated decisions about you.
Complaints
If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
